Reinventing happiness (no.2)

Today I watched "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" (and the movie following it, "The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"). It's about a hotel in India and its elderly guests.

All  this color....!! Shades of yellow, and red, and blue, and purple, and green, and almost every other color that exists! And all the fine embroidery on the fabrics and clothes! All the beautiful patterns in architecture, jewelry and on any element that catches your eye! Well, it's a Hollywood movie after all, it can't be 100% accurate to the real thing, but still looks amazing!

You look at all these beautiful things and you can't help but think that if there's so much color to lighten up the world, the world can't be a very bad place. At least not always....

Plus the idea of travelling and getting to know different cultures, seeing new things, taste, smell.... I should travel someday....! But maybe watch some trevelling documentaries for now.

P.S. Those beautiful couple of lines in the end of the second movie, spoeken by Muriel Donnelly (the character of Maggie Smith):
"You have no idea now what you will become,
don't try to control it.
Let go.
That's when the fun starts."

A sweet comfort quote

Since the day I bought this and I looked at it from this angle it seems like it says these words to me....

Two lines by Brothers Grimm

From the moment I read these two lines I fell in love with them.
They have become something like a mantra for me,
sometimes I even quote them out of the blue, just because they're so lyrical and perfect!

A child's philosophy

What I really like about children is that they have their own perspective of the world.
Yes, adults do as well, but children do it with a really magical, full of imagination way!
They try to understand and translate the world around them with the terms they're familiar with.
So did I. And I still remember my best (ever) philosophy I had as a child. I remember thinking about it and saying it to others when I had the chance.
I believed that....

* Note: I grew up playing with the original, tiny, Polly Pockets. Each figurine wasn't more than 2 cm tall.

I found this quote on Pinterest and decided to make my own artwork for it!

I love this quote from "Mulan"!
So, I made this using as base an image from fanpop.com.

Demons

(fun-time.website)

I remember that my previous "microcosm" blog, "The microcosm inside her mind" , had a few demon-haunted posts.
But let's start  from the definition of the word demon. For me demons are all the bad (or not pleasant) things, situations, people that have happened in my life.
In the past there were times that I was feeling them "sitting" so close to me that they where kind of blocking my air sometimes. But the thing is that as time passes and I grow up things change and the relationship with my demons changes too.
Bad, difficult and unpleasant things keep happening and new demons are "born", but I manage to have them around without paying so much attention to them.
I do listen to what they're "saying", but after all it's my choice whether I'm going to pay attention to them or whether I'm going to ignore them and keep on going my way.

It's ok.

Lately I was so nervous. Stress was all over my mind.
After the breathing exercises that are a classic solution to these problems I tried one more:
dealing with perfection.Or better with imperfection.
I'm a person that wants to try until I have the best possible result and in the end I always think that I could have done even better (secret perfectionist). In my every day life I want some kind of order in things. And subconsciously (I think others see it better than I do though) I want to have the control of situations, things and people around me.
So, these last days when I start getting anxious about something and being afraid that it can go wrong,
I just say to myself that it's ok even if something goes wrong or not according to plan.
And the truth is.... I 'm feeling much better!
After all perfection doesn't truly exist! :-)
